Using Your Energy to Create Success

Your intentions, your expectations and your thoughts create your life. It’s the same for everybody – whether you’re stuck in a boring routine life or super-successful – the only difference between both ends of that particular spectrum is that highly successful people know how to use their mental energy.

Everything is made up of energy – you, your body, the chair you’re sitting on, the air you breathe, the trees, this planet, the universe. Your thoughts are energy and they have a measurable impact on all the energy that synthesizes together to create your life. Continue reading

Want to be a Success? Change Your Life

Is there some aspect of you or your life with which you’re not happy? Are you having difficulty achieving the kind of success you would really like to achieve – whether that’s in business, your career or your personal or sporting life? In other words, would you like to be e bigger success than you are at present? Well, if you want to be successful and happy, you’re going to have to change your behaviour. You’re going to have to take new action. As a client said to me recently, “I decided that, if I wanted to change my life, I had to change my life!”

Let me explain. I first met Billy three years ago. At the time, he was seriously stressed about his job, he suffered from chronic lower back pain, was constantly tired and, as a result, his home life was, to say the very least, less than satisfactory. More recently, Billy spent three days with me in my part of the world, the French Alps. It was the fourth time we’d worked together in three years. In those three years, he’d been promoted to what would potentially be an even more stressful job – right at the very top of his organization. His back problems had vanished and, in fact, he told me he could now do thirty minutes on his local gym’s rowing machine, a couple of times a week – beforehand, he couldn’t even bend down to sit on the rowing machine. He’d also just booked a three week holiday for himself and his family, having spent ten days on holiday at Easter – he, his wife and children were having a great time.

When we first met, I had explained to Billy that the normal adult mind is in constant turmoil – it is “entertained” by roughly 50,000 random thoughts each day. You know the kind of useless stuff – “I wish this guy would hurry up or I’ll be late for my next meeting!” “I wish I was on the beach, instead of the office, it’s such a lovely day!” “I don’t know if I unplugged the toaster!” “I really am too shy to walk up to that guy and say what I feel!” And, the ones that wake you at four o’clock in the morning “What if I don’t get that sale, will I be out of a job, will I lose my house, what will happen the kids?” (‘Cos the ones at four o’clock in the morning often take us on a train of thought to imaginary ruin – more like an express train to hell!).

I also explained that Billy’s subconscious mind was even more distracted – it’s just that, because it’s subconscious, he’d never be aware of the fact that, like all normal adults, his subconscious mind was incapable of paying attention to the here and now, the task in hand, obsessed, as it was, by his childhood conditioning, the snapshots of his formative years which all normal minds dwell on subconsciously. As a result, it was little wonder that he was stressed – the World Health Organization believes stress will be the biggest killer of the 21st century. It was little wonder that he’d been crucified by lower back pain for years – your mental state is at the root of most, if not all, physical illness. And, certainly, you wouldn’t have to be a genius to work out why his home life was spinning out of control.

But Billy not only understood, as most of my clients do, the importance of changing his mind – he actually put it into daily practice – hence, the results that he could so excitedly tell me about. Billy and I worked together to enable him stop the random noise in his head, to enable him calm his mind. Most importantly, Billy practiced and learned how to pay more of his attention to the here and now, dragging his subconscious mind’s attention away from the past and enabling him be more focused on the task in hand. Billy understood that, when you’re more present, you have more presence and that makes you more impressive to the normal people around you. As a result, he’d been handpicked for his new corporate role – without even realising that he might have been in the running – he was more focused on doing just what he was supposed to be doing.

In short, Billy learned how to meditate. And it made such a practical difference in his life that he committed not just to doing it every day – but to doing it for one hour solid every morning. He told me that he realised that if he wanted to change his life, he needed to change his daily life first – get up at six o’clock instead of seven – go to bed at ten o’clock instead of eleven.

If you’re not the success you want to be, your life is not going to change without you doing something practical about it. If your life doesn’t turn you on, you’re doing something wrong – you’re going to have to do something right instead. You’re going to have to find a way to turn yourself on – to focus your attention in the here and now – so that you will stop paying attention to useless thought and so that your subconscious will stop tripping up your today by focusing on your yesterdays. Your success – your effortless success – is entirely within your own control – but you’re going to have to act.

What’s It Like To Golf In The Zone?

1158272_grassWhat’s it like to golf in the zone? Picture this…you’re gazing down at your ball, your hands are very comfortably gripping the handle of your club, you look out over the rolling green grass and you feel relaxed and calm. Your thoughts have ceased and you become aware of the breeze moving through the nearby trees, the sounds of chirping birds and how the sun feels as it warms the skin on your arms. You glance down at your ball again and bring your club up over your shoulder and down again to make contact with the ball. Success – the perfect golf swing! It all feels so natural and fluid and you’re elated because you recognize that you are “in the zone”. Nothing is going to get in your way of having the best golf game of your life!

You’re probably well aware that golf has as much to do with mindset as it does with technique. You need a mindset of success in order to succeed at many things including golf! If you’ve been having trouble with your game, you probably find yourself replaying those unfortunate scenes in your mind. This will of course only sabotage your game even more. And, if you’ve had a stressful week at the office, you are likely to bring that to your game – causing your week-end to be less enjoyable than it could be.

There are many techniques for getting in the zone but they often require you to battle with your mind in order to reach that “zen” state. What if there was a way to end the mind battle and just be “in the zone” more often and with less effort. Not only will you feel more relaxed, you will feel more confident and truly enjoy the game of golf.

Over the last couple of decades a new psychology has been emerging called energy psychology. You’ve probably heard of Tony Robbins before or seen him on television. He brought neuro linguistic programming or NLP to the mainstream. You may have even heard that NLP has helped people improve their sales results, their sports performance and even their relationships. You may not be aware however that a number of other very effective methods of working with the subconscious mind have been proven just as effective and life changing as NLP. One of those cutting edge techniques is known as Meridian Tapping or Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). When you tap on these energy points on your face and body with your fingertips, it helps to induce a state of relaxation while releasing any negative emotions or attitudes you may have about your skills and abilities as a golfer.

Directing Your Thought to Power Prosperity

521554___fritz__

Thought is a very powerful energy and the way you think reflects on who you are.

Directing our thought energy can be very powerful in allowing prosperity into our lives, and this includes health, happiness and all that we ever want to be or have.

Your mind is made up of the conscious and the subconscious mind, the conscious mind directs the way you see, hear, feel, taste, smell and generally how you perceive things initially.

The subconscious mind directs your internal body functions such as your lungs, liver, nervous system, etc. including your powerful inner unlimited mind’s resources which is where your true personal aspirations and seat of wisdom lie.

A simple illustration of how this works is as follows:

The conscious mind which is in touch with the external surroundings and events would usually transmit information from different sources, based on what you see, hear, smell or taste and generally would form an opinion based on your experiences in life, your beliefs, social environment, or your personal preferences.

This information is then transmitted to the subconscious mind which takes its direction from the conscious mind, being that the conscious mind is in touch with the outside world through your senses.

The subconscious mind is always agreeable to whatever the conscious mind decides and so will throw its unlimited resources towards achieving it. This process applies whether the thought is negative or positive. The subconscious mind does not differentiate or argue, it always accepts the decision of your conscious mind.

Although the subconscious mind has unlimited resources it must work naturally in conjunction with your conscious mind as a whole.

So, when there’s a lot of negativity in the thought process, this negative and unproductive energy passes through from the conscious to the subconscious mind and eventually turns into a habit which becomes part of the person’s nature over the long term.

Negative habits repeated over time can be detrimental to the body’s health, and could lead to illnesses such as stress, depression, anxiety and would also inhibit progress towards achieving your true success goals or aspirations from a deeper level.

Hence, it’s important to control thought in the first place so that you can awaken the “Positive Creative Powerful Energy” already within you to constantly flow through and allow your unlimited minds resources to truly work on your behalf.

You may be surprised to know that some people never ever really recognize this power and so they live their lives oblivious of the wonderful mind power resources that exist within.

In a recent research in 2001 at the Harvard School of Public Health and Department of Veterans in Boston, it was discovered that people who took a more positive and optimistic view of life in general had half the risks of coronary heart disease compared to their more pessimistic counterparts.

In another study at Yale University in 2002, it was found that thinking positively about ageing can add approximately seven and a half years to your life.

So, understanding how to direct thought is the most wonderful activity that can be controlled from within, because when mastered, this will then allow you to create your desires as a direct fulfilment of your very own thought power.

In addition, the control of thoughts allow the expression of you as you wish it to be from a deeper level, engaging the conscious mind on a fixed objective as usual, but allowing your subconscious mind to put its wonderful unlimited resources to work for you.

In doing this, your action would be to direct and engage both minds in harmony with your true Prosperity Desires or Lifestyle Aspirations.

Practicing this “Control of Thoughts” constantly and diligently will allow you to gradually and eventually understand how to take absolute control of circumstances and events around you.

In time, you’ll begin to appreciate the pleasures of directing your thoughts to prosperity or other specific life aspirations you have, which should open the doors for better health, improved circumstances, happiness and harmony with your true creative nature whatsoever your desires may be.

You’ll discover that keeping your conscious mind saturated with Peace, Positivity, Gratitude, Love, Confidence, Joy, Willpower, Success, Happiness, Persistence, Strength, and Focus in harmony with your subconscious mind will gradually and eventually lead to “Exuding this Power Mind Force” that will enable you to break every single barrier that has ever stood in your way.

Now the question is, how do you start this whole process in practice?

Starting today, become more aware of your thoughts “All Day Long”

You can repeat affirmations such as the following:

“My mind is a powerful thought energy source and I am directing this energy towards my inner desires through constant control of thoughts”

Affirm this many times daily and let the “FEELINGS” of this settle within you. You can also affirm words like peace, success, positivity, confidence as they apply personally to you.

Feel the true meaning of these words as they apply to you specifically and make each word a personal thing.

As you do this daily, you’ll form the habit, the habit then becomes and feels part of your nature, and eventually this will gradually become embedded deep in your subconscious mind while gradually replacing negative emotions and feelings that may have worn you down in the past.

Drop by drop, like essential oils to the soul, your powerful resource will be laying the foundations for creating the life you desire as you persist daily in this and the control of your conscious mind.

Agree within yourself to live in harmony with these words, become thought conscious, rather than let your thoughts loose to roam aimlessly. As time goes on, trickle by trickle eventually your subconscious mind will commence the work of directing its’ unlimited resources to your cause.

Do not strain or feel any anxiety in doing this, you need to be relaxed, and just take this as an enjoyable therapy towards your Prosperity.

Another important key point is to agree on doing things one at a time. So you choose your most immediate objective and the others are arranged to follow in an orderly procession.

Always seek the guidance of your subconscious mind in choosing an objective that is more of the “real immediate priority to you”. Think the priority out carefully and once you decide that this is the one to tackle first, then focus your thoughts on the outcome you want to see. Your subconscious mind will eventually direct you diligently and gracefully, taking on the challenges along the way until you achieve it.

It’s important not to be tempted to focus on too many things, as this leads to scattered thought with no purpose, no direction and consequently no achievement. Choose to make your objective one at a time and let the others be scheduled into your plan.

Focusing and directing your minds’ resources in harmony with your true desires is the key to all great achievements and prosperity in life.

James Allen, a great contributor in the subject of Thoughts Power once explained that “if you alter your thoughts towards things and other people, then things and other people will alter towards you”.

In another statement he also said “Let a man radically alter his thoughts and he will be astonished at the rapid transformation it will effect in the material conditions of his life. The divinity that shapes our ends is ourselves.”

So, Prosperity in the Life and any other aspirations you have will begin making its way towards you when you begin to think and direct your actions towards prosperity, knowing that “Thought” is the start of the creative process.

You also understand that what manifests out of thoughts is that which we habitually focus on, be it consciously or unconsciously.

When you become conscious of your prosperity desires, you begin to direct this consciousness wilfully and diligently into your subconscious mind, trusting it to unfold the circumstances and events including the actions you need to take that will lead to your Prosperity objectives.

The important thing to note here is that to have Prosperity in your life, you must be conscious of it, you then build this consciousness in as a habit for it to become part of you. The actions that would then follow, which is necessary to accomplish your desires would be purely a natural process of reaping that which you have already taken time to sow.

Learning How to Control Yourself

1155437_photo_finishNormal people are out of control. This is not an observation, a theory or an opinion. This is a statement of scientific fact. Decades of research, all the way back to 1936, prove conclusively that the normal person is not in control of themselves, rather they are controlled by their subconscious mind. And, because all this happens automatically, there is, in fact, no real control at all being exerted in the ordinary behaviour of everyday life.

Reflect on this for a few moments. Someone pulls out in front of you in traffic – someone you’ve never met, don’t know and are unlikely to ever come across again – and you automatically get agitated, annoyed, even stressed. Clients have said to me that the morning commute leaves them totally stressed out and exhausted before the working day ever gets going! Or, someone you claim to love – a husband, wife, boyfriend, girlfriend – does something silly like squeezing the toothpaste from the middle of the tube and you automatically lose your head. Indeed, it is a common fact that most domestic arguments, fights, even murders arise over something silly or insignificant.

As normal people, we spend our lives reacting. These reactions are automatic – driven by our subconscious mind in a way that is so deeply rooted that we seem to have no control. The reactions just happen, often making matters worse rather than better. In fact, the subconscious mind’s automatic processes (known as automaticity to psychologists) are a finely tuned set of responses that enable us complete habitual tasks without having to pay them any attention. Unfortunately, as we go through our adult lives, most things become habitual and, as a result, completely automatic. We are no more than robots, living lives created by reactions which are automatically dictated by our subconscious programming. We are out of control.

That subconscious programming was “installed” through “snapshot learning” when you and I were young and impressionable. People and events that made a big enough impression on us during our formative years were freeze-framed into our deep subconscious. Those snapshots are re-run every time we encounter similar events during our adult life and, as a result, automatically create our spontaneous, thoughtless, mindless, reaction. In other words, we react to what’s happening in the present moment based on programs that are decades out of date. Little wonder husbands beat wives, wives beat husbands, bosses bully workers, etc, etc, etc. The list is endless and, as normal people, we are completely unable to stop the cycle of reactive, destructive behaviour.

We need to regain control. If we do regain control, something extraordinary happens. We start acting – doing the right thing, doing what is most important, most appropriate and most effective just at the right moment. We start creating a different set of behaviours, a different “chain reaction” – because if we change our behaviour towards others, others (even if they never regain control of their minds) will at the very least react differently. We create a different experience – a different life.

We regain control by stopping. Stopping ourselves in our tracks, to see if we are behaving in the best possible way or if we are just knee-jerking reacting like all the other mindless morons. We cannot, however, stop ourselves in our tracks, or call ourselves to attention, unless we relearn how to pay attention. As children, we were attention experts. If we got a new toy, we used all our five senses to fully experience the toy – we saw, felt, heard, smelled and tasted it. As adults, I send my clients for a walk to experience their five senses and some of them return chewing bits of hedge or ivy because they couldn’t get a handle on the taste that was already there in their mouths beforehand!!

Normal adults cannot pay attention (scientific fact yet again) – and, yet, paying attention is the only key you need to open the door into creating a life free of reaction, the life that you really, really want. Paying attention enables you take control of your mind – because paying attention to what you are experiencing here and now stops your subconscious mind paying attention to the programs that are decades out of date (the programs which otherwise dictate your automatic reactions). You have to be “abnormal” to pay attention. You have to become again like a little child – childlike not childish.

So, starting right now, see, feel, hear, smell and taste where you are. Take five or ten minutes every day to do just this. It will be mechanical, seem pointless, at first. But, I can assure you (as can many Universities from Milan to Chicago from East London to Stanford) that doing something so simple will change the very fabric of your life and will enable you be the most effective, most efficient, most successful, most happy person you can be – effortlessly.
