Do you have one good reason to start your business right now?

How about 10?

Regardless of what people around you may say, right now is absolutely the best time to get into business, and I’ll give you 10 good reasons “why” – no matter what other people or the media say.

If you don’t believe me, just go back and look at the slowdowns throughout economic history. Most recessions in the post-World War II era U.S. last just an average of 10 months, followed by growth cycles that last an average of 50 months.

What this means for the start-up is there is no better time than right now to get going and start pursuing your business dreams – in anticipation of the next period of growth.

1)First, everything is cheaper. There is great value right now in this and in world markets. As asset prices have been knocked down, there is no better time to get into the real estate or financial markets, or even heavy equipment and construction. Some people have waited years to find value in these markets – and now that time has come.

2)You can hire more team and better qualified people. In an era when big companies are laying off, you can find great resources at affordable rates. There are plenty of engineers, accountants and attorneys looking for their next opportunity.

3)People are looking to change suppliers. From a cost perspective, everything is “on the table” for most companies. If you can come in with greater value even if your prices are higher, you have a good chance at winning new business.

4)Ownership equals tax incentives. Business ownership offers a variety of tax benefits that aren’t available to employees. While taxes should never be the sole reason to go into business for yourself, it should be one reason to add to you “benefits of business ownership” list.

5)Family and friends don’t want to (or can’t) invest more money into the stock or real estate markets. That means they may be willing to finance a portion of your new venture, or the expansion of an enterprise that has proven itself over time. The main benefit is that they know you and have a relationship with you – and if you have a solid business plan that delivers real numbers, the chances of raising the capital you need increase exponentially.

6)Suppliers are giving better credit. Because the credit markets have virtually shut down, the business-to-business credit flows are keeping money circulating out of sheer necessity. That means a bullish outlook for companies looking for good terms on stock and/or inventories. The main advantage is that all parties have more incentive than ever for finding true “win-win” situations that allow for cash and stock flow. When everyone is looking to survive, great deals can be had.

7)You can get good PR by showing you are “going against the trend.” If you are optimistic by expanding or getting into business now, you would be in that category. That means you can generate some great PR by demonstrating your “alternative” view of the market.

8)You can buy everything you need at auction. In addition to everything being less expensive, you can find great deals at auctions, especially in terms of any large equipment and office furnishings. Auctions are also a great place to find hardly used or “gently” used restaurant and bar supplies at great prices.

9)You can find great “low money” or “no money” down deals. This is simply being aware of good opportunities others have messed-up, and finding deals where you could get an entire business simply by taking over a lease (along with all the equipment). Many business owners want out at “any cost,” meaning you can negotiate great “win-win” deals.

10)You’ve lost your job and you have to do something. Sometimes, the best business decision is the one you are forced into. There’s nothing wrong with being in this position; it just means there is greater urgency to do something that will start to generate income as quickly as possible.

There you have it. There is no better time to start than the present.

So get going.

Not only will you fulfill your entrepreneurial desire, you’ll find opportunities you couldn’t have imagined, and you’ll also be facing a lot less competition.

This article is intended for probably your significant other or spouse to read… I felt compelled to write it talking to them about your needs since my marriage went south due to the lack of much of this. If you currently don’t have one, give it to a family member or friend and/or save for Mr. Right later! Enjoy and hope it helps!

Did you know (you, meaning the non-entrepreneurial spouse of an entrepreneur) that your entrepreneurial spouse (or significant other – just as important in this scenario) takes on a huge responsibility when they start their own business?

Granted, some of the smaller, home based type business owners could be out there just to make a few extra bucks for fun or they’re doing their business for a hobby, not truly a serious business venture.

However, I’m not talking about them here, I’m talking about actual entrepreneurs (home based or not) who are in business to turn a profit AND provide products and services they are passionate about.

I’m also talking about the ones who are your significant others or spouses (so forward this to them if this is the other party – you’ll be glad you did) in which case YOU are also NOT an entrepreneur yourself and frankly wouldn’t want to be….is this you? Did you know that your spouse may not be getting the kind of support they need in order to be fully confident and successful in their business? (yes, by you) And in order to be completely successful at running your own business CONFIDENCE is the key!

When you have a job working for someone else, often you can succeed without that much confidence but when it’s your own business…there’s absolutely NO way.

Did you know that your spouse may not know how to communicate this need to you?

Now, two things can happen here….

1 – you won’t care and you’ll stop reading this or 2 – you’ll care but you’ll have no idea if this is true or even how to find out what your spouse needs exactly (hopefully you’re still reading…)

If #1 occurred then you’re probably on your way to divorce anyway so your situation is most likely not fixable.

If you’re in alignment with #2 though then GREAT! But now what?

There are basically 2 things you can do to support your spouse in business (even if you don’t have any involvement in their business, know what they do or want to know).

You can either take Action or Non-Actions. Actions consist of ways to physically help out or support your spouse.

Non-Actions consist of ways to emotionally and mentally help out or support your spouse.

Your spouse unfortunately needs both in order to feel fully supported, loved and encouraged (that’s the hard part, it requires some work).

But let’s break it down…

Actions

o helping – when asked for help

o learning – about what they do and how else you can support them

o listening – to requests, feelings, emotions and needs o loving – at all times in various ways that are noticeable

Non-actions o understanding – they need to do it ‘their way’

o giving – of your energy when they need it the most regardless if asked

o sharing – feelings, emotions, questions and concerns

o expecting – nothing but complete and utter happiness among all

Of course there’s so much more to it than this but that’s what marriage counselors are for right?

No, seriously…the one way to learn better how to communicate and support your entrepreneurial spouse is to start the dialog, practice this stuff, ask what they need, learn more about what others are doing and then get help as needed

Lately you have been thinking of a new direction in your life – because you don’t want to work for a boss anymore, because you want to get out of the roil of that endless routine, because you want to have more time for yourself and your family, because you are seeking new horizons, or simply because you know you are worth more than what a job is worth and want to get fulfilled by achieving something that satisfies you. This is the entrepreneurial voice in your head.

But then your mind gets back to more “realistic” considerations like the global economy in turmoil, the uncertainty of investments and the gambling-like rules of running a business : if it works out for you, you hit the jackpot, but if you fail, you have everything to loose. Then you realize you have to place yourself on the secure side of the fence, searching for guarantees, risk 0f investments, stable businesses and of course predictive outcome. At that point you go back to your old job full of resignation – leaving your ideas in that pending box to “another day”.

The truth is, it is all about LACK OF ACTION. Blaming lack of time or lack of money is a disguise which suits your mind and keeps you satisfied with your decision. But let’s face the facts, you have made no decision – you have just gone the way it has always been.

Building up your own business and reaping the benefits of being self-employed requires effort and investment, but that investment is in reality in YOUR own future. Here are some hints for you to know if a business is right for you or not – just take a notepad and a pen and write down these few points, then sit comfortably in a calm place, open your mind and the answers will pop up in your head as clear as a revelation :

1- What does the business outcome represent for you? Money alone is not a goal – is it going to bring you more freedom in your life, more time to spend with your kids, more travelling around the world? The list is endless. If you know what you want to achieve, the road will be simpler to show.

2- Will you get self-satisfaction by running this business? Will you be able to help others, will you have a smile on your face everyday? Do you like to work on your own or do you prefer being part of a team of like-minded people who join their efforts for the benefit of everyone involved? Imagine yourself in action, and see if you like it.

3- Do you have that burning desire for change? Do you KNOW you deserve success? No business is going to make you successful, it is you who make a business successful, and that is by knowing you are a successful person. What chance do you have of being successful? I can answer that for you – exactly the same as everyone else, you just have to take ACTION. Successful people are not just lucky – they put themselves in a position to be “lucky” and then work hard to make the “luck” show up.

4- Are you ready to take action and make decisions that will somehow make your palm sweat? Are you ready to get out of your own way? Nothing is at risk 0, and if a baby could talk before he could walk, he would probably never walk, it is too dangerous.

5- Have you got the correct business owner mindset? Are you ready to invest in order to get a phenomenal return on investment? Can you stay consistent and focused to run your business at its best? Do you know that your dreams are worth more than other people’s opinions?

Once you have answered these questions, the whole “huge unsurmountable commitment” you depicted to yourself in the beginning just vanishes away. If it is so, then you do believe in what you aspire to, and you should probably take the actions that will make your life be what you want it to be.

People looking for businesses for sale believe that getting into complicated plans and systems makes it look more realistic and achievable. That is because they believe it is the “way everybody does, so it is the good way for me too.” Again, don’t let your neighbor or your work colleague be your advisor – be YOUR OWN leader and you will achieve things you would never have thought possible.

“All progress depends on unreasonable people” – George Bernard Shaw.

He teaches motivated people how to generate an executive-level income by working from home.

More people are surfacing into the entrepreneurial spirit today than in past due to the economic situation we have before us right now. This being the case the actual slump is bringing some good to us. Some people that would have never considered being an entrepreneur are figuring out what can they bring to the table. They pool their resources trying to see a problem people are having and could they be the solutions provider.

So, that brings us to the point just exactly what is being an entrepreneur is all about!

Wikipedia: An entrepreneur is a person who has possession of an enterprise, or venture, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome. It is an ambitious leader who combines land, labor, and capital to create and market new goods or services.

Often on start up the funds will come out of an entrepreneur’s on pockets because banks would surely shy away from new ideas, especially in these hard times. Banks are not interested in start-ups in hard times. Of course another way to come up with funding one could consider friends or relatives. Being an entrepreneur is a good thing!

I read an article one time by Donald Trump he said “You better know as much as you can about a entrepreneur’s quest you seek, so you’ll know what you’re getting yourself into!”

The failure rate is very high but if an entrepreneur can identify a need that the main stream of big corporations are not nor addressing, this is a key factor. Top entrepreneurs seem to catch up on an exact formula as you’ll see them start up one after another. That way if one of his ventures is not panning out, they can cut their loses early on, moving forward with the rest of his projects.

These are a few points you can go by getting a head start and they are:

Create your plan then take massive action.

Start off by setting up clear goals, a vision of what you trying to accomplish.

Turn obstacles into opportunities.

Be willing and prepared to do whatever it takes to reach your outcome.

Build on your purpose, passions and not those of others

Ask professional advice from areas of the venture you have no knowledge of.

You may have to educate yourself turning your weaknesses into strengths.

Gain financial skills and vocabulary.

What is the best way to find out about a problem you being the solutions provider on an issue you identified you could cure? The safest way is to become an apprentice with someone who is an expert in that field.

Entrepreneurs are like explorers and pioneers of the movement’s from the past, that have reshaped and rekindled the way we live and think. Being an entrepreneur is a good thing and not just something that should be swept under the rug when you “get an idea!” All things begin from a single thought in your mind. A few of most famous are Oprah Winfrey, John D. Rockefeller and Bill Gates, who as of this writing is “The richest entrepreneur in the world!”

If you have the entrepreneur heart then I encourage you to go after for in oreder for anything to happen something must move!
