One of the values of a good Time Management System is that it helps you separate the good use of your time from the less effective uses. This comes into play when we have to deal with days where we are busy, but not productive. From the onset, being busy is not what we want; running around working hard, at whatever comes across our desk is not a recipe for success.

Being Busy

The days where we worked hard, ran hard, accomplished things, and still ended up dissatisfied at the end of the days were the days that were busy for us, but did nothing or very little to move our Agenda along. That is why we have an Agenda; to help us plan and organizes our day, so we can move closer to achieving what we want to do and when we feel it should be done. The purpose of adhering to a good Time Management system is that we want to have a plan, and then work that plan.

Being frantic and hectic does nothing in the long run to help us achieve and realize our goals. We want to achieve the following: being productive. What is not going to benefit us is just being hectic and running around, this leads to nothing of real value for us, except perhaps by accident.

Being Productive

This is where we want to be, being productive means we have achieved what we set out to do, and that is to move closer to realizing what we have set out in our daily Agenda as well as our long term plans and goals. If you do not have a plan, then you are simply at the mercy of the events and the people around you who do. When you allow this to happen, then being wrapped up in other peoples activities is the best that can happen to you and that is not an appealing thought.

Accomplishing what you set out to do has many benefits, one is, success breeds more success. If you get into a groove, see things working out for you, you tend to keep doing what is working for you. Time Management is an acquired taste, some people will turn their nose up at the mere mention of it, and others will latch on, see that it works and then become an advocate, a convert of it. The value of a good system is that it helps to keep you focused and your eye on the ultimate prize, you and your productivity and your happiness.

What we want to be able to do as much as possible is to have full, busy as well as productive days. How do we do that? Self-management, no I did not misspell, we need to control and manage our time, as well as managing ourselves at the same time. Once we separate what we want to do, we then have to discipline ourselves into doing what we set out to do. That is where we have to show some discipline and some focus, keep out the influences and the distractions, and get down to business. This is where a good Time Management System is worth its weight in gold, it will not only help establish a plan for you to follow, it is designed to keep you on course and focused on the tasks at hand.

Easier said than done, it is a long process and made longer if we are not aware of the implications. The days that we get what we want to get done are the days that we are closer to where we want to be. The days that will allow other people, other events and other Agendas to prevail, we a have taken a step backwards. We have only so much time, energy and resources at our disposal, we need to be sure that we make the best use of these limited, non renewable assets.

I had panic attacks on a regular basis for six years! I wish I had known then how easy it is to cure panic attacks once you know how.

A little background is needed here.

Panic and anxiety are very much the same. Not exactly, however, and they definitely vary in intensity.

Anxiety is a condition of apprehension caused by being afraid of a threat, imagined or real.

It is one of our most common emotions. It seems that everybody goes through it at different levels, over different things, and at different times in their life.

That’s anxiety. It’s fear. That’s pretty straightforward.

This whole thing is wrapped up in fear. It’s about fear and it’s caused by fear.

And fear is the “key” to this problem. To cure panic attacks it is necessary to get rid of the fear of the attacks returning.

It’s easy to learn not to fear panic attacks. I’ll bet you are glad to hear that.

Toward the end of my six year sojourn through the dark valley of anxiety and panic attacks I came up with a method that enabled me to shed my fear of the attacks.

I’ll never forget that day. What I did amounted to a subtle “shift” in my thinking in regards to panic attacks.

It kind of went this way (it’s been 30 years). I realized that I had been suffering through these attacks now for six years! Six long years.

I also recognized the fact that, although I had gone through hundreds of these attacks, I hadn’t been harmed, at least not physically, that I could see.

When I combined that fact with the regret that so much time and energy had been wasted, the net result, for me, intellectually, and in my gut, was that my fear of the attacks was replaced with anger.

Right then and there, in the absence of fear of these attacks I could feel their pull on me release and I knew they would never be back. That was thirty years ago and they have not returned.

I’m NOT recommending that you have to do it this way. The way I did it was created for me, by myself, through my experiences, over a six year period, and, I feel like I got lucky.

Still, I learned one thing I will never forget, and that one thing is the solution.

Once again, if you want to know how to cure panic attacks, the solution is to get rid of the fear of those attacks.

All you have to do is know how to do and then just do it.

Fortunately there are programs available that will show you exactly how to do it for yourself.

You can have your life back.

Are you struggling to summon up the motivation to exercise? Are you constantly telling yourself you must get to the gym, but finding that other things just get in the way?

It is a typical scenario, and one that is actually pretty simple to address.

The first thing you need to do, is stop hassling yourself to exercise. You do not have to have willpower of steel or be super disciplined, so you can stop worrying about that right away. Relax a little and have faith that your body will intuitively know what is good for it, if you give yourself a chance to listen to what it is telling you.

Next, you need to sit down! Yes, the first step to successful fat loss is sitting down and doing practically nothing! Get a pen and piece of paper (and a cup of tea – but skip the sugar and cookies) and begin to write down what you want to achieve when it comes to your health and fitness.

Do you want to lose body fat? Do you want to tone up your thighs and bat / bingo wings? Do you want more energy? Do you want to be stronger for daily tasks? Do you want to play a sport better or take up a sport you feel too unfit for?

Brainstorm all these things, and you may find there are some surprising things you attach to fitness, that you hadn’t thought about before. Think about how good your life would be if you could achieve these things – really try to imagine and visualize being slimmer and more energetic, or how you’ll feel when you finally learn to snowboard, if you’ve always felt too unfit to give it a go.

Then write down all the reasons that stop you from exercising.

Do you feel low on energy when you get home? Are you too hungry at the end of the day to go to the gym, but then too full to workout after dinner? Do you struggle to find the time?

Then write down ways you can address all of these. If you are too hungry after a day at work, make sure you take an afternoon snack so you can work out straight from the office. If you struggle with time, consider a time-efficient work out plan, using kettlebells ideally! Realise that there are solutions to all these obstacles.

Then go back to your ‘goals’ list, as that is what you have effectively written in the first step. Then begin to expand on the goals and look into what you will need to do in order to achieve them.

Will you need to exercise? Will you need to look at your nutrition? Will you need to improve your time management?

Then, using all the information you have in front of you, come up with a plan. Write your goals out clearly, and give them a deadline and attach measurements to them. But also state WHY you want to achieve them. Then, state HOW you are going to achieve them, in several clear steps.

Once you have established a clear and compelling WHY (remember to visualise and keep the end result uppermost in your mind) and you have worked out practical steps HOW, then motivation is no longer an issue at all. You see exactly what is required to get the result you are after, and that you truly want, and so will take those actions accordingly.

The next time you find yourself low on energy, you will be able to remind yourself that your workout will energize you. If that is not enough, you can remind yourself that you won’t hit your target if you miss this workout – so the workout is no longer an isolated activity with no purpose, but part of a longer chain of events that will take you exactly where you want to be – to the fitter, slimmer, more confident version of you.

One thing that I have found is a common challenge on this path is that spiritually conscious people tend to not allow themselves to feel their negative emotions. They are strong, capable people who in general are very positive, yet in order to “stay positive” and have things “going good” they often ignore their emotions.

Sound familiar?

It is also a common fear that if you let yourself feel your negative emotions, you will plunge to the depths of them and never get out. That if you feel hurt by what someone says and you just let yourself feel it you are dwelling on it and it’s going to feel worse.

I really want to shed some light on this because it is one of the most damaging things I see spiritually conscious people tend to do to themselves. First, let’s look at what is really happening when you ignore or deny your emotions.

Do you often feel like people don’t seem to care about you as much as you want them to? About your needs and how you feel? Is your partner hurtful without realizing? Do you give so much and receive little in return?

These are all situations that you tend to attract when you are ignoring your negative emotions. And of course, this furthers the emotional denial because you are upset and it appears as though they are causing it… but they’re not. YOU are unconsciously.

Why does this happen?

Let’s go back to basic Law of Attraction, you attract what matches your energy.

By ignoring your negative emotions, what do you think is happening energetically?

You are saying that your feelings do not matter. It doesn’t matter that you’re hurt, sad, angry, in pain, heartbroken. You literally send out a vibrational message that you are not important and don’t matter.

So if that’s happening energetically, what do you think you attract?

People who tend to treat you as if you don’t matter, they don’t consider your feelings or needs. Or, you attract this behavior from the people in your life, even if they don’t mean to be like this.

And, by the way, if you are not allowing yourself to feel a negative emotion, you may think you are tricking the Law of Attraction but you’re not. You attract what matches your ENERGY. If you allow your emotions to flow, they dissipate, if you deny them, they become a part of your energy field and you attract more that matches them.

But the good news is that you can turn this around, and it doesn’t have to be as difficult as you think.

Now I want to be clear up front that I am suggesting this for everyday situations where you are experiencing a not-too-deep or intense negative emotion. Deeper negative emotions tend to point to stronger, deeper energetic patterns. I don’t suggest you try to make those go away by just feeling them as they are energetically anchored into your energy field and they are there for a reason you must resolve before they will release. I prefer an easier way to shift old patterns and that is using my Intuitive Healing Process. Or if you feel it may be a psychological issue, definitely seek professional help to get through it so you can get to a place of honoring yourself and feeling your emotions as you can see it is very important!

So, let’s shift the energy around this so you can be attracting better treatment from those in your life and so you can begin to feel important, honored and valued.

It all starts with you and how you treat yourself, when I say express your emotions, I mean get them out. This doesn’t mean everyone needs to know what your emotions are, again, this centers around YOU and I don’t even care if you’re the only one who knows about them at this point. In fact, it can feel good to get your negative emotions out on paper then rip it up and dispose of it, it’s a freeing experience!

Now first, I want to go back to the fear most people have, that if you let yourself feel your negative emotions you will be consumed by them. I have found that if your intention beforehand is to honor yourself and to feel better in doing so, the more you allow yourself to feel your emotions, the more they just dissipate as you get to the depths of them! Okay, so next time you feel a slightly negative emotion coming up, instead of just brushing it off or pretending you’re fine, here’s what I want you to do:

1. Stop and give yourself some quiet time to yourself and get out your journal. Even a piece of paper will do if you don’t have a journal yet, you can even throw it away after if you don’t want anyone to see it. The point is not to have a record of your emotions, the point is to EXPRESS your emotions.

2. Start out by setting an intention or asking for support, silently or on paper. This can go something like “Please help me to honor myself and my emotions and to get to a place of feeling better”, or “I intend to go higher.” This can really make the time you spend most effective so you don’t feel like you’re dwelling on your negative emotions. You are not doing this to punish yourself, you are doing it to HONOR yourself.

3. You can also imagine yourself surrounded by the light of your Higher Self or Source, so that as you allow yourself to face your emotions, you are allowing a higher vibration to replace them. If your negative emotions are like a dark room, you are surrounding that dark room with light and by allowing yourself to feel them you are in essence opening the door and allowing the light to flood in.

4. Start writing out how you feel. You can even start your sentence off with “I feel…” and go from there. And as you are writing, let yourself FEEL your negative emotions. Don’t just write and focus on how others are behaving, that’s not the point, the point is to feel your emotions so they can begin to dissipate. And again, the point is also to honor yourself and send out the vibration of “my feelings are important, I am important!”

5. Continue until you feel relief and you feel a bit lighter.

6. Once you feel some relief, celebrate that you have taken a big step by honoring yourself and your emotions!

7. To end on a positive note, begin to write about how you want to feel and as you do, allow yourself to feel these positive, good-feeling emotions.

Making yourself a priority and honoring yourself and your emotions is an important part of your journey. This shift to allowing yourself to feel your emotions is one of the most important one you can make, and until you show you’re important you can’t attract different from others!

Have you ever been working on something, going down a path in your business or life, and it just doesn’t feel as good as you want it to?

You can reason it out – doing this makes sense, this is something that’s good for me or my business, I need to do this, I’ve got it pretty good here, etc… but you’re just not excited?

Congratulations – you’ve got a good situation. But what it’s costing you is greatness.

When I began putting together my six-month Business Success Breakthrough program, I started working with a partner. I was creating all the handouts, and my partner was to help me with the audio portion, and we’d split the proceeds. Some little voice was bothering me from the beginning – is this really what you want to do? Then when we actually began recording a few audios, the voice got stronger.

My partner was providing a supportive voice, but all the content was mine. And I was feeling like this wasn’t a real partnership. It wasn’t my partner’s fault – I like him personally, and he has plenty to offer, but I just didn’t need anything from him for this project.

After talking to a friend, I realized that this situation wasn’t what I wanted or needed. I wanted a 2nd voice on the audios, but I didn’t need a full partner – I needed a sidekick who would add a few comments and let me lead the show.

So I talked to my partner, and told him that I wanted to do this project myself. Fortunately, we hadn’t done too much together, and he was incredibly gracious and supportive of my choice. We’ll work together in the future, I’m sure – just not this time.

When you find that you’re traveling the wrong road, it’s never too late to turn back.

That call was hard to make. I knew that I had a pretty good situation with this person. But I also knew that taking it back, and making it my own, was the ‘great choice’ in this case.

The Universe supports you in greatness.

I immediately got an offer from national speaker, Cheri Britton (www.BoomThinking.com) to be my 2nd voice on the audios. Cheri is funny and articulate, and she’s a perfect sidekick on this project. And now I’m excited, really excited, about how great this program is. But it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t been willing to give up the good to get the great.

Where in your life are you accepting the good, instead of going for the great?

Is there a client that is draining your energy, but you’re afraid to let them go? Are you plugging along with a business model that is bringing you moderate income, instead of looking for something that would be overwhelmingly successful? Whether it’s a relationship, or an office system, or a mindset – if it’s just good, but not great, you’re cheating yourself of your true success.

Tapping Tips for Success

Setup statement (tap the KC point):

Even though I’m afraid to give up this situation, I know that it’s not serving me, and I’m open to the great.

Even though it would be safer to keep this situation, even though I know it’s not the best, I choose to accept myself completely.

Even though I don’t know if I can let this go, I choose to accept myself now.

Do several rounds, tapping on each of the tapping points, using the following reminder phrases, or make up your own:

I know this isn’t the best situation

But it’s safer to keep it.

How do I know what else is out there?

What if there isn’t anything better out there?

I know this isn’t serving me

But I want to be safe.

I’m nervous about giving up the situation.

It’s not so bad

But it’s not great.

How could I change now?

This is what I’ve done.

Don’t I have to live with this?

When the intensity of your upset has dropped to a 5 or below, do one round, tapping on each of the tapping points, using the following reminder phrases or make up your own:

What if I could give up the good, and go for the great?

I wonder if I could create something that would really be amazing.

I’m open to the Universe prviding me with something great.

I choose to let go of the good and go for the great.

Alternate the negative and positive rounds (always end with the positive!) until you feel excitement at the idea of letting go of the good, and receiving the great.

Identify one thing in your life where you’re accepting just the good. Eliminate that so you can create greatness for yourself.

Why do so many people quit diet or exercise programs after a few weeks or days? Have they lost their desire? Have they become unmotivated? I say the answer is no.

If you asked someone who quit a program if they still wanted to feel healthier, look youthful and be attractive, my bet is that they would definitely say that they did. I mean, if they wanted something badly a few weeks ago, I don’t think that this wish suddenly went away.

No; a decrease in motivation is not what causes most people to quit. I believe that the desire is always there, but that it eventually gets overwhelmed by all the aggravation – all the annoying stuff that comes along with the new lifestyle – until they can’t take any more. In the first few days, they haven’t yet had to deal with much aggravation, and so their desire is unimpeded. This is why health clubs are always full of new members in January.

But unfortunately, there is just so much annoying stuff out there – and so many types of it – that for many people, the desire just hasn’t got a chance of outweighing it in the long term. I don’t think it’s worth even trying.

I think a better option is to keep the amount of aggravation as low as possible. This, I believe, is where we should concentrate our efforts. Not on artificially pumping ourselves full of “motivation!”

Let me give you just one example, which is simply getting to the gym in the first place. Usually when people say things like, “I haven’t got the time to exercise”, it really means that they haven’t got the time to spend driving to the gym, battling traffic, hunting for parking and driving back again.

This is a fair point. Even if we had unlimited time, it just doesn’t make sense to me to spend an hour or more on travelling, just for a 45-minute workout. The answer, obvious as it may sound, is to choose your gym based primarily on proximity and ease of transport.

Even though this does sound trivial, you’d be surprised how many people don’t do this. They may join a gym that’s far away because it’s the most modern, or has the best equipment, or simply because they want to train where their friends train.

Don’t you make that mistake. Choose a gym that you can get to easily and quickly – one that won’t involve your being stuck in a car getting angry and stressed out.

And don’t let yourself be led by price. Don’t make the mistake of joining a gym that’s far away and a nightmare to get to just in order to save some money on membership. It’s usually a false economy anyway; if you never get any use from the gym then it is very expensive, no matter how little it costs.

If you don’t have any gyms you can use, you can train in your garage, with just a couple of dumbbells and a bench. Some of my own best results have come from garage training.

I believe it’s important to make your new lifestyle as easy and low maintenance as possible. So always be on the lookout for anything that will remove a source of aggravation, no matter how small. You see, you need to be lazy if you want to succeed.

“Huh? How can you succeed at anything by being lazy?”

Good question. It’s not that I’m against working hard; it’s simply that I believe in saving that hard work for your training.

My view is that you have limited amounts of time, patience and energy, and I want you to spend those on things that are going to give you results.

Remember, it’s very easy, especially in the modern world, to constantly be “busy”, but never actually achieve anything. Aim to do only those things that will really help you succeed; the rest is just a distraction.

“People will suffer almost anything as long as it means they don’t have to change.” ~ Deepak Chopra

Life is a series of ups and downs, twists and turns. You can approach the roller coaster of life with arms high in the air; willingly and ready for whatever comes next. Or you can grip the handlebars and fear for your life. The choice is yours. A “next” is guaranteed if you are still breathing. As such, change is inevitable and certain.

Yet so many people fear change. Even as masters of our own destiny, deliberately choosing our own paths can sometimes be intimidating. Everyone has the ability to create positive changes in their lives, yet distorted fear-based perceptions often lead to the treadmill of a stuck-in-a-rut comfort zone of existence. Many people believe that they are inadequate or incapable of handling a new situation. New situations, entering into new zones of being are, therefore, are scary. Even if a person doesn’t particularly like their comfort zone, like an old worn-out baby “bankie”, it feels safe.

When a strong self-worth is in place, change is seen as a welcomed opportunity for growth and personal fulfillment. Enthusiastic creative energy is activated instead of debilitating fear. The person with a growth mindset eagerly reaches for a continuous flow of new positive experiences, while the person with a fixed, fear of change, mindset will dig-in and stay put in current patterns of behavior that generate more of the same stuck-in-a-rut experiences. Fear of change is the work of your Inner Critic, the voice of your fear and self-doubt.

There is a way to tell if you’re resistant to change; dragging the reluctant along as you go about your life. You have an inner guidance system that I playfully call your Inner Wizard. This is the voice of your intuition and inspiration. As your Muse it serves up emotion to tell you if you’re resisting or embracing change. If you feel uncomfortable, lethargic, anxious or more extreme feelings of desperation and depression your Inner Wizard is telling you that you are holding on to a comfort zone that is not working for you even if you feel safe within it.

If you are willing and available for growth and change you feel good. You great each day with renewed energy and wonderment. It’s that simple. If you feel tired and unfulfilled then you have given your power to make positive changes over to your Inner Critic who is unyielding to any sort of change beyond where it feels safe. If you have given up your power, then you are powerless to change your circumstance – until you reclaim your power.

To reclaim your personal power, examine your comfort zone. There is power in writing down your examination discoveries in a journal. The writing process takes moves the flying monkey-mind thoughts of the Inner Critic and puts them onto a page where you can look and examine how you make choices, what criteria you base your actions that deliver the existence you are experiencing.

What, specifically, are you afraid of? What stops you from moving forward in the direction of your dreams? Fear of change begins to lose its power upon this initial examination. As you dig deep into the underlying thoughts and believes that generate your fear, their power to limit you begins to diminish. Deliberately look for evidence that contradicts those thoughts and beliefs.

For example, ask yourself, – What’s the worse that could happen? – What would happen if the worst happened? – How realistic is that? – How can I know, absolutely, that the worst will happen? – What positive experiences could come out of the change? – Can I point to any positive examples of people doing those things, living that experience, now? – How realistic is the positive possibility? – If other people have done it, why not me? (check for and examine further Inner Critic self-doubt on this one) – Who would I be, what would I do and what would I have if I had a positive change outcome? – What is one thing, one simple thing, I can do in this moment to move forward positively into a new and better comfort zone?

Then do that one thing. And the next.

Before long, you’ll realize that what you feared was a misguided belief, not a truth. You are stronger and more capable than you gave yourself credit for. No longer enslaved by your Inner Critic, you have regained your personal power and a healthy sense of self-worth.

Pay attention to your emotions as you continue to move forward. Trust in yourself and the creative process of life. Tap into your inner wisdom, your intuition, your Muse, and the Wizard within for guidance and support. You will always be safe.

The list holds your favorite foods, music, TV shows, celebrities, West Hills personal trainer and even people in your life that you can’t get enough of. This is the stuff that you really enjoy. It’s the stuff that makes your life worth living.
Somewhere on the list is your health and appearance. You know that looking and feeling great make a good life even better. The interesting thing about your list is that without fail you’ll always make time for it. – When your TV show airs, you watch it or record it to watch later. – When your favorite actor stars in a new movie, you do your part by going to the theatre. – When you’re hungry, you turn to your favorite foods. – When the weekend rolls around, you do everything you can to spend time with the special people in your life.

Yet when it comes to physical exercise you automatically say, “I don’t have time.” Time for TV, but no time for exercise…

We live in an age where life is full. You don’t have extra time anymore.

You no longer have time. You make time. – You make time for your TV show. – You make time for your hobby. – You make time for your friends.

It’s time to drop the charade of “I don’t have time to exercise” and call it what it really is. An excuse.

You know how to make time for your favorite things. You know you want good health. You know you want to look great. You know you want more energy.

Exercise delivers all those benefits—and more. And a West Hills personal trainer can deliver those benefits.

I believe that exercise should belong to your list of favorite things.

Make It A Favorite: How do you turn something that you’ve dreaded into something that you enjoy?

Block the Negative: Your thoughts play a big part in determining your favorite things. Block out any negative thoughts you may have about exercise. Focus your energy on creating a positive attitude that will get you excited about hitting the gym, rather than dreading it.

Focus on the Benefits: With exercise you have so much to gain and nothing to lose. Exercise makes you stronger, sexier, happier, and gives you more energy. Pick the benefit that moves you the most and fixate on it.
